Save the Child Initiative (STCI), signed a sub-agreement with PLAN International to implement the TB REACH project across Tambuwal, Binji, Illela, Bodinga and Tangaza Local Government Areas of Sokoto state. The project is aligned with the UN’s Every Woman Every Child global strategy, and will help to drive progress towards reaching targets within Sustainable Development Goals 3 and 5. The project is being implemented with funding from Stop TB reach and in collaboration with Plan international Canada. The following were achieved during the quarter under review:

  • The capacity of 277 Community Based Health Volunteers were strengthened on the use of CBHV Tally Sheet from across Tambuwal, Tangaza, Binji, Illela and Bodinga LGAs of Sokoto state
  • 59 VSLA Groups were formed by VSLA Facilitators across Tambuwal, Tangaza, Binji, Illela and Bodinga LGAs of Sokoto state
  • The organization successfully monitored and mentored Community Based Health Volunteers (CBHV) across Tambuwal, Tangaza, Binji, Illela and Bodinga LGAs of Sokoto state
  • 146 outreaches were conducted by Male Champions across Tambuwal, Tangaza, Binji, Illela and Bodinga LGAs of Sokoto state
  • The organization successfully monitored and mentored male champions across Tambuwal, Tangaza, Binji, Illela and Bodinga LGAs of Sokoto state
  • The organization successfully conducted monthly review meetings with VSLA Facilitators from across Tambuwal, Tangaza, Binji, Illela and Bodinga LGAs of Sokoto state.
  • 107,575 TB cases screening were conducted consisting of 47,570 males and 60,005 females from across Bodinga, Binji, Illela, Tangaza and Tambuwal LGAs of Sokoto state.
